In this weeks article we looked at the immigration act of 1924 in the legal process of the ration initialization states. During this time Nativist politicians lobbied for exclusionary acts that allow for discrimination in who was allowed to come to America. America wanted to stay be “original race so they only wanted specific people and a cap on anyone else.
These immigration laws that were set in place were very harsh many people were not treated fairly due to quote us for immigration from countries with people many people were sent back home and for without good. These immigration laws challenge the idea of race and nationality for America even if you appear to be white it didn’t matter at that time if you weren’t the right type of white.
